It's that time of year again to review safety tips for taking care of your Christmas tree and minimizing your chances of a tree fire.

  • Purchase a fresh tree that is not dry 
  • Water the tree, like any other house plant!
  • Turn the lights off at night
  • Keep the tree away from heat sources, like fireplaces, candles, space heaters, and TVs
  • Don't use damaged or frayed cords for stringing your lights
